Children’s Ministry

We have two divisions of the children department (ages 0 – 5 and 6 – 10 years old). Our children learn about the undiluted word of God and godly acceptable relationship with their parents, siblings, families, and friends. We teach our children to know Christ from their early years, we equip them with the ability to know the basic principles and criteria to enter the Kingdom of God so that when they grow up, they would not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

We have our Sunday school class from 11:20am to 12noon at the same time as the adult church and then join the adult church for youth ministration session and praise and worship session before returning to our class to continue with our own personalised service for the rest of the Sunday service.

We observe our own short praise and worship session where we sing and worship God in our own unique way. We have prayer session where we observe group prayer which is led by one of the children or teachers and every child has an opportunity to lead the session on a rotational basis to build their prayer lives and empower them spiritually as they grow older. We also have teaching session where we learn various biblical topics or stories with fun and interactive activities which enable children to fully participate in class and have full understanding of the topics. We create opportunity for our children to watch video version of the lesson they learnt in order to solidify their knowledge and learning. We introduce memory verse that teaches a key point of the topic and homework is given at the end of the teaching for increased knowledge of the topic learnt and in preparation for next lesson.

We have lunch around 1:45pm where children have varieties of snacks, drinks, and fruits. We update parents with progress/ behaviour of their children as necessary and we ask for parents’ support in ensuring that children complete their homework and remain obedient in class

Weekly/ monthly activities

We organise quiz time quarterly to evaluate children’s knowledge on the topics they have learnt. We have our children anniversary/ thanksgiving yearly where children appreciate God’s faithfulness in their lives by entertaining parents with religious songs, drama, preaching, and other fun filled religious activities. We also entertain parents with songs, poem, or short play during festive period like Easter, Xmas, or any special occasion like, mothers’ and fathers’ day. Also, we organise outdoor events like a day trip during summer for children to have time to bond together outside church environment.

Brief description of how to join the department

No specific rules in place or screening to undergo before joining the department, however, parents will need to agree and trust children teachers that their children will be well looked after and cared for in the church as well as guide them through the way of the Lord.
